YAP! Youth Activism for Equality, Personal and Planetary Health

This project engages young people in the co-creation and sharing of knowledge and resources, using artistic methods and theater practices. It promotes a holistic approach to self-care, empowering participants to prioritize their health while fostering a strong sense of ownership and inspiring them to drive positive change within their communities and among their peers

“Yappening” proposed a space for encounter focused on the experiences, concerns and ways of being of contemporary youth. Ortganized on the 6th and 7th of May of 2026 at the Bonfim Parish Council and Casa d’Artes do Bonfim, the programme brought together two performances, "El batec de la terra desperta" by Plàudite Teatre and "Ternura Radical (Bonfim)" by PELE, the launch of the fanzine “How to care for a flower in the middle of a storm?”, and a conversation under the theme “Care in times of vertigo”.

Project co-funded by Erasmus+ (Spanish Youth Institute) and the City Council of L’Hospitalet, and led by Plàudite Teatre, in partnership with PELE.
With the collaboration of the Bisbe Berenguer Institute. Recognised by the UNESCO Chair in the Prevention of Violence against Women.
PELE is supported by DGArtes and the Bonfim Parish Council.

The fanzine “How to Care for a Flower in the Middle of a Storm?” emerged from a creative process involving young people from Porto and Barcelona around themes such as ecology, mental health, and practices of care. Published in four languages — Portuguese, Catalan, Spanish and English — it stands as a testament to some of the workshops and encounters developed within the YAP! project.
